At 12:26 PM on September 26, Kazakhstan local time, a Y-8 aircraft exported to Kazakhstan by AVIC International Aero-Development Corporation (AVICADE) landed safely at the Astana International Airport. This marks the first time a Y-8 in service in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was successfully ferried and delivered.
On September 27, the Y-8 delivery ceremony was held at the Astana International Airport. China and Kazakhstan are friendly nations linked by mountains and rivers. The relationship between the two countries continues to deepen. In September 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the Belt and Road Initiative during his visit to Kazakhstan. Directed by the BRI, AVIC proposed the Aerial Silk Road plan, which aims to provide the connectivity of the Belt and Road countries with total aviation solutions. This promotes local economic development and launches complete cooperation in the aviation industry. The Y-8 delivery will build an aviation cooperation bridge and further strengthen cooperation between China and Kazakhstan.
