China’s First Overseas Airlines Operating Domestic Aircraft Was Established in Cambodia. Release Date : [2014-08-21]

 

 

AVIC’s Cambodian Baron Airlines, called “Baron Airlines” for short, held an establishment ceremony in the town hall of Cambodian Phnom Penh Diamond island. It is the first overseas airline mainly operating Chinese airplanes. On the ceremony, Baron Airlines also signed a contract with Xi’an Aircraft Industrial Cooperation, purchasing 20 MA-60, which was also the biggest order the MA-60 had ever had in overseas. The participants like Cambodian National Assembly President Heng Samrin, Deputy Prime Minister Sok An, Lin Zuoming, chairman of AVIC, Deputy General Manager Gu Huizhong, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the kingdom of Cambodia Bu Jianguo attend the ceremony and unveil MA-60 aircraft model.
On the ceremony, Lin pointed out that the goal of the establishment of Cambodia Baron Airlines is not only to promote the development of transport and tourism of Cambodia and create more local employment opportunities and increase tax, but also to introduce more high and new technology as well as products to Cambodia. We will help Cambodia cultivate more aviation technical talents, and accelerate the development of the aviation industry in Cambodia, making its due contribution to strengthen bilateral friendly relations between the two countries.
Baron Airlines plans to introduce 2 MA-60 aircrafts in 2014, and 20 MA-60 regional jets and 10 320-airbuses for jet airliner in five years. In the future, Baron Aviation holding company decides to take Baron Airlines as leading enterprise, and plan to develop the airport management, civil aviation college, general aviation, tourism development, the development of new towns and resources and other fields
Liu Jia, Baron Airlines’ general manager, thinks that the introduction of 20 home-grown aircrafts—"MA-60" will improve the international reputation of the home-grown plane. Baron Airlines will build a maintenance base for spare parts in Cambodia, and gradually establish a "MA-60" aircraft service center overseas in the future. This project will also actively promote the development of talents, technology economy and employment, etc in Cambodia.
