On Sep. 17, a delegation led by Klaus Richter, executive vice president and Chief Procurement Officer of Airbus, visited AVIC Shenyang Aircraft Corporation International. More than 40 other visitors from Airbus headquarter at France, Airbus UK, Airbus Germany, Airbus Spain, Airbus Canada, Airbus China and ANN joined the trip. The both parties reviewed projects, and discussed the arrangement of work packages including center wing box and wing-body fairings. The delegation visited A220 project assembly plant A03 and the A10 workshop.
Klaus Richter acknowledged the achievements of the A220 project in the past years, and expressed full support for the smooth transfer of the two packages in future, to promote steady growth of yield for the A220 program.
During the high-level review meeting, Airbus revealed that more than 300 A220 added in the order book last year, and the final assembly operation has been carried out in Mirabel and Mobil respectively. Airbus expressed its confidence on AVIC SAC as the sole supplier for specific aerostructure in A220 program.
The visit of Airbus delegation is a milestone for the development of A220 project at Shenyang. With new arrangement roadmap of the package for central wing box and wing-body fairing, has expanded the project has been expanded to a new level.
