On Dec 17th, CAIGA, AVIC’s division of general aviation, delivered a Cirrus SR20 to Beidahuang GA, the world’s largest forestry professional airline.
The delivery is the first of 86 SR20 trainers that were ordered by Beidahuang GA and Civil Aviation Flight University of China this summer. The two customers will use SR20 for flight training.
Moreover, the trainer is the first that delivered from CAIGA’s Zhuhai factory, also the first SR20 delivered to China with a new Lycoming engine.
All of the 86 SR20 will be assembled in CAIGA’s Zhuhai factory, which incorporates assembly, painting, flight test, and support service capabilities.
Cirrus was acquired by AVIC in June of 2011, and since then AVIC has committed to provide support and invest to improve Cirrus’s R&D, manufacturing, marketing.
SR2X is the most popular piston aircraft in the last 16 years, and over 7000 SR2X is operating all over the world. The 8000th SR2X is expected to deliver in 2020.
