On May 8, AG600, the amphibious aircraft developed by AVIC, made its first taxing test on water in 2020. The taxi test was conducted at Zhanghe airport in Jinmen city.
During the 119-minutes test, the AG600 completed taxing inspection on land, and tests including entry into the water, acceleration, and deceleration on water, turning, docking, etc. The operation of the aircraft and all systems were reported stable, paving the way of AG600’s first flight from the sea.
The taxing test followed efforts including engine period maintenance, modification, ground engine testing, integrated test, and emergency exercise in the last 56 days, despite difficulties brought by COVID-19.
