On June 20, AG100, a new generation of basic trainer developed by AVIC CAIGA made first flight at Zhejiang Deqing Moganshan Airport. The debut lasted 10 minutes, and the crew reported a stable flight and excellent operation ability.
AG100 is designed to meet urgent need of China's flight training market, with consideration of international market potential. The project team has extensively solicited suggestions from major customers from China and abroad.
Designed as a dedicated basic trainer, AG100 incorporates an innovative three-seat layout to provide training to cadet on the third seat, which will greatly improve the training efficiency. Equipped with parachute and cockpit airbag, the type will ensure safety of training flight in any emergency.
AG100 is powered by one gasoline-compatible ROTAX 915is engine, which will facilitate fuel access and reduce training costs. The customized Garmin G3X avionics and enhanced landing gear and airframe make AG100 an idea solution for intensified flight training.
In favor of high cost-effectiveness of AG100, 8 customers have placed orders and signed follow-on cooperation agreement with CAIGA, including Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment, Henan Aviation Investment General Aviation Investment, Anyang Transportation Airport Development and Investment, Anyang Institute of Technology, Qingdao Jiutian Flying School, Hubei Azure Flight School, and other training schools.
AG100 is designed and took off at Deqing, Zhejiang, a province which AVIC partnered with to foster aviation industry.
